the Green Monkey...

A green monkey?  Who ever heard of such a thing. Well, once we got to know him it made perfect sense.  A monkey who cares about being green.  Silly us, of course he's organic.

The Owners...

Mother and daughter Claire Evans and Allison Schneider happened upon the monkey business by chance and decided it fit exactly with what they were seeking to do.

Claire, a former dance studio owner in Glenwood Springs moved to Denver to be closer to her two daughters and new grandson in the summer of 2007.  As a young mother Claire was always concerned with giving her children the best and as the times changed and she became a grandmother insuring her grandchildren aren't exposed to any dangers became even more important.  Going into the baby business in an ecological way made sense for this lifetime earth conscious woman.  And now she has an even better excuse to spoil those grandbabies!

Allison became a labor and postpartum doula after giving birth to her first child in February of 2007.  As she learned more about the industry of having babies,  supporting families became a passion for her.  Owning a store that promotes protecting babies and educating families seemed a perfect fit and Allie is thrilled to be able to balance motherhood with work. 

The Boutique...

As going green really took hold it was important for us to start from the beginning.  Becoming eco friendly is something that has defined the new generation of parents.  Providing products for families from pregnancy through toddlerhood that are safe and eco friendly  in an accessible and family friendly environment is our goal.  We wanted to insure parents that  everything in the store is safe for them and baby.  From our  baby carriers made  by local moms, to our blocks imported from Europe, from head to toes, everything in the store is eco conscious. Hence our tagline, head to toes organic. You won't find anything in our store or online that is not eco friendly.

The Green Monkey Baby is a charming boutique located in the Old South Pearl Street district of Denver, Colorado. It's not your ordinary baby boutique. In addition to offering the most organic and eco conscious brands than any baby boutique in Denver, we host ongoing classes and seminars for our parents and more importantly, babies and toddlers!! Everything from  Bradley Childbirth classes to potty training  classes, we keep our moms and dads inspired to do new things with babies and meet other parents who pride themselves on giving their little ones a natural journey.

Our goal was to serve as a gathering place for moms and dads to learn, to have fun and to give their children an opportunity to play with safe, cool, educational toys.
